Bombers D -ring McHardy Dressage. The McHardy Dressage is a unique bit. The middle piece is ground flat and set at 45° to follow the contour of the horses tongue, and distribute the pressure evenly over tongue, which together with the offset links further reduce pressure points. McHardy Dressage is curved to be softer on the bars and slow in applying tongue pressure. A horse shaking its head when bit pressure is applied or trying to put its tongue over the bit are classic signs the horse has a sensitive tongue. With this in mind the McHardy Dressage was created, it has a medium port creating space for the tongue, relieving pressure.

The new McHardy Dressage bit was designed by Miia Lahti / Kotielaintarvike.fi. Our close development and cooperation with Bombers has produced many new and innovative bits.  

Bombers McHardy Dressage belongs to the category four at the Bombers bit category; 2 Break

2 BREAK: Double break bits have a middle component that sits on the tongue. Some extent of pinch will occur. Made of 3 components.

CHEEKPIECE - D-ring, Dee - The Dee ring is similar in action to the Eggbutt, it prevents pinching and gives a slightly more solid feel against the cheeks. This prevents the bit from being pulled through the mouth. The release is slower and some slight poll pressure is introduced. Traditional fixed cheek introducing light poll pressure and no pinching. The cheekpiece is available in 2 sizes, standard (width 82mm, height 92mm) and a slightly smaller model for a pony (width 68mm, height 66mm).

- Thickness 14mm (B14) Width 110-145mm
- Thickness 16mm (B16) Width 150-160mm

BOMBERS SWEET IRON

Sweet Iron used in the manufacture of mouth pieces will oxidize when it comes into contact with moisture; this oxidation process encourages salivation which improves acceptance of the bit. This process changes the blue colour of the Bomber horse bit to a brownish grey. If not used for a while, any build- up may be removed with a scourer and wiped with a damp cloth.

The Handmade Original - Lifetime Guorantee!

A Bombers horse bit is entirely handcrafted, it takes about 1-2 weeks to make one bomber bit. All the component parts are welded, formed and ground by hand. The sweet iron after treatment, gives off a striking and attractive deep blue tint. The finishing touch: the size and brand name are stamped on the left-hand side of the horse bit.

The Bombers Lifetime Guarantee covers all stainless steel, sweet iron and brass products from manufacturing defects in materials and workmanship for the lifetime of the product. Bombers will repair or replace at its discretion any manufacturing defect in these products free of charge. The Bombers Lifetime Guarantee does not cover damage caused by accident, improper care or cleaning, non-standard usage, negligence or unauthorised alterations. Bomber lifetime guarantee does also not cover some mouthpieces which can be chewed, those are for example; Cable, Leather, Flexible tubing and bomber blue. Those mouthpieces are not suitable for horses that chew.
