Bombers Eggbutt Snaffle. Bombers Snaffle is a popular bit due to the curved mouthpiece which distributes pressure more evenly over tongue and bars and reduces the nutcracker action. The offset center link avoids the usual pressure point on the tongue. The nutcracker action results in the horse lifting its head, therefore offers a solution for the horse that runs with its head down. The mouthpiece can be optionally more curved, creating a more comfortable bend than the conventional, which reduces pinch and spreads pressure points around the bars.

Bombers Snaffle belongs to the third category at the Bombers bit category; 1 Break 

1 BREAK: When applied the singe break snaffle pinches the bars and tongue raising the head. Made of 2 components.  

CHEEKPIECE - Eggbutt - The Eggbutt cheek piece prevents pinching of the lips and gives a solid feel against the side of the face. It also prevents the bit being pulled through the mouth. The release is slower than the loose ring and also introduces light poll pressure. Traditional fixed cheek introducing light poll pressure and no pinching. The cheekpiece is available in 2 sizes, standard (width 75mm, height 78mm) and a slightly smaller model for a pony (width 60mm, height 66mm).

BOMBERS SWEET IRON

Sweet Iron used in the manufacture of mouth pieces will oxidize when it comes into contact with moisture; this oxidation process encourages salivation which improves acceptance of the bit. This process changes the blue colour of the Bomber horse bit to a brownish grey. If not used for a while, any build- up may be removed with a scourer and wiped with a damp cloth.

A Bombers horse bit is entirely handcrafted, it takes about 1-2 weeks to make one bomber bit. All the component parts are welded, formed and ground by hand. The sweet iron after treatment, gives off a striking and attractive deep blue tint. The finishing touch: the size and brand name are stamped on the left-hand side of the horse bit.

The Bombers Lifetime Guarantee covers all stainless steel, sweet iron and brass products from manufacturing defects in materials and workmanship for the lifetime of the product. Bombers will repair or replace at its discretion any manufacturing defect in these products free of charge. The Bombers Lifetime Guarantee does not cover damage caused by accident, improper care or cleaning, non-standard usage, negligence or unauthorised alterations. Bomber lifetime guarantee does also not cover some mouthpieces which can be chewed, those are for example; Cable, Leather, Flexible tubing and bomber blue. Those mouthpieces are not suitable for horses that chew.
