Solheds Derma2 Calming Serum. Derma2 is made of pure and natural ingredients. Derma2 is a proven and efficient serum for the management of skin problems in horses and dogs. Numerous skin problems including allergies, summer itch, chafing and insect bites can cause itching. Animals use rubbing and scratching to reduce symptoms further exposing their skin that easily becomes infected. Derma2 serum contains natural essential oils, which alleviate the allergic inflammation, aid in the recovery of itchy skin and improve the renewal of healthy skin and hair. Derma2 serum is quickly and readily absorbed reducing risk of exposing infected, damaged skin to dust and dirt. The serum can also be used on challenging areas such as ears. The essential oils in the serum make licking of the treated area often uncomfortable for the dogs. Derma2 serum is an excellent base cream for various skin problems and for reconditioning of the skin after injury and renewal of hair growth. Instructions: Use daily on symptomatic areas, always on clean and dry skin. Brush mane and hair aside prior to massaging with Derma2. We recommend using Derma1 Skin care shampoo. Avoid contact with eyes and mucosae. When using Derma2 daily, a dandruff type layer can develop as sign of skins regrowth. Regular, gently brushing exposes the new regenerating skin, reapplying Derma2 maintains skins moisture balance and tolerance to external irritants. The product comes with a tip applicator facilitating easy and accurate delivery directly to symptomatic areas. Shake before use.

Contains no FEI prohibited substances. However, it is important to check the country-specific restrictions, for example in Sweden there has been a 96-hour waiting period for the use of aloe vera.

The founding member, Saija Pihkanen has masters degree in Biochemistry. She worked previously as a scientist in the faculty of veterinary medicine and has worked in executive positions in both bio- and pharmaceutical companies since 1995. She has extensive experience in marketing scientific innovation, sales, product development and project management. Saija is also an owner of Solhed – horse farm, managing horses, cats and dogs. SOLHEDS brand is named after the farm. The company name comes after Saija’s precious Finn horse mare Tilla, the horse for whom the products were originally developed for.

Derma product line is the company’s own innovation. The innovator Saija, has since 2000 studied summer eczema and developed various natural remedies for it. As an owner of a horse farm, Saija was familiar with the skin problems in her own horses. She found none of the products in the market effective in treating summer eczema, so she decided to use her expertise in developing a product herself. Her background in biochemistry and pharmaceuticals gave her an edge in developing a product that created an interest in other horse professionals, companies and veterinarians. This encouraged Saija to found Tilla Oy and focus in research and development of wellness products for animals.


The pH of the products is adjusted to ~ 7, which is in the pH range of the skin of horses, dogs and cats.
