Charles Owen Riding Helmet Luna Wide Peak. The new Charles Owen Luna Wide Peak riding helmet features a completely new design, a sleek modern appearance and a straight-edged, wide Peak Flexzone sun peak.
The wide sun peak gives the helmet a distinctive appearance and provides excellent protection from UV radiation and bright sunlight.
The Charles Owen Luna has a slim, low-profile design and Owen’s new 360° “Halo” ventilation system combined with six ventilation openings for maximum airflow.
Also available in a Round version, designed to better fit a rounder head shape.
The helmet features a removable and washable liner, which can be replaced with a completely new one or changed to another size if needed.
Please note: The helmet liner is sold separately, product number 02262628.
Beneath the helmet’s outer shell is a unique safety liner made from high-quality polystyrene containing microscopic air bubbles.
Upon impact, the air bubbles rupture, helping to absorb impact energy and reduce the risk of injury to the head.
During an impact, the safety liner helps to slow the movement and reduce the so-called rebound effect, which can contribute to brain injuries.
The helmet features soft synthetic leather straps with an easy-to-use quick-release buckle.
Charles Owen helmets are manufactured in England.
The helmet meets three safety standards: Kitemarked to PAS015:2011, Kitemarked and CE marked to VG1 01.040 2014-12, and certified by SEI to ASTM F1163:2015.
Colour:
Black Matt = Black with a matt black “Halo” ventilation ring
Size options: The wide-peak Luna Wide Peak is available only in shell size M (55M, 56–58) and Round M (R55M, R56, R57, R58).
Helmet shell size / liner size:
Shell size M (55M, 56–58): compatible liner sizes 55M, 56, 57 and 58
Round M (R55M, R56–R58): compatible liner sizes R55M, R56, R57 and R58
Measure your head circumference with a soft measuring tape at the widest point of your head (see the measurement guide in the image). For example, helmet size 55 corresponds to a head circumference of 55 cm. The helmet liner compresses slightly with use, so the helmet should fit as snugly as possible when new. The best way to find the right helmet is to try different helmet models and sizes in-store with the assistance of an experienced salesperson. Also see the fitting video for guidance on choosing the correct helmet size, how to position the helmet correctly and other important factors to consider when choosing a riding helmet.
For safety reasons, a damaged helmet should always be replaced, as a damaged helmet may no longer provide optimal protection. Damage to the helmet’s safety liner cannot necessarily be detected from either the inside or outside. Even an undamaged helmet has an approximate service life of 5 years. A properly fitted, high-quality safety helmet can provide essential protection in the event of an accident.
