Blue vs. Green Light

Blue:
Many flying insects, particularly flies, moths, and mosquitoes, are naturally attracted to UV light. They perceive the blue light as an attractive source and are drawn towards the insect killer.

Blue light is highly effective for attracting a wide variety of flying insects.

Green:
Studies indicate that certain fly species, including house flies and blowflies, can respond even more strongly to green light than to blue light alone. Green light creates a visual contrast that can be particularly attractive to flies.

Green light can therefore be more effective against daytime-active flies. It also produces a less intense visual effect than bright blue light, which can make it a more comfortable choice in areas where people or animals are present.
