Bovikalc Calcium Supplement for cows. Bovikalc calcium supplement reduces the risk of milk fever.
- Calcium supplement is recommended for use in connection with calving in older cows and cows that have had milk fever in connection with the previous calving.
- In Bovikalc, the calcium is in the capsule.
- Calcium chloride dissolves completely in the stomach in about half an hour.
- The Bovikalc bolus will disintegrate quickly in the rumen.
- The calcium chloride is available immediately.
- Calcium sulfate, on the other hand, is broken down by gut microbes within about 30 hours of dosing, which enables long-term protection.
- On top of the bolus is an easily soluble shell that prevents irritation and ulcers of the cow's mucous membranes.
- The bolus is dosed directly into the cow's throat with a dispenser.
Dosage
The cow is given the first capsule when she shows signs of calving. The second capsule is given immediately after calving. The third capsule is dosed 12-15 hours after calving and the fourth capsule 24-30 hours after calving.
A dispenser designed for that is used for dosing. A broken capsule must not be used.
Store Bovikalc capsules in a plastic case in a dry, cool place until they are used.
Bovikalc does not contain sodium, phosphorus or magnesium.
