These terms apply to transactions between the Kotieläintarvike.fi online store and its customers. We sell products to private individuals and businesses in Finland and the EU.
1.2. Acceptance of Terms
By placing an order, the customer accepts these delivery and order terms, product prices, and shipping costs. The customer is also expected to have read the store's privacy policy.
2. Ordering and Contract
2.1. Ordering
Products are ordered by adding them to the shopping cart and completing the purchase at checkout. The order is binding once the Seller has sent the customer an order confirmation.
2.2. Prices
Product prices include VAT. We reserve the right to change prices and shipping costs. The price displayed at the time of ordering is the valid price.
2.3. Order Confirmation
After a successful order, the customer will receive an order confirmation by email. It includes the ordered products, their prices, shipping costs, and these delivery terms. The customer should verify the contents of the confirmation.
3. Payment
Payment processing in the online store is handled by Paytrail Oyj. Available payment methods include online banking, credit cards, invoice, and instalment payment.

4. Delivery
4.1. Delivery Methods and Costs
Delivery methods: Matkahuolto, PostNord, and in-store pickup.
Shipping costs are determined by the chosen delivery method, product weight, and size. They are displayed in the shopping cart before the order is confirmed.
4.2. Delivery Time
The estimated delivery time for stock items is generally 1–4 business days. For order items, the delivery time is approximately 7–14 business days.
Most of our order items have a delivery time of approximately 7–14 business days, except for some brands. Longer delivery times are noted in each product's description and delivery terms.

We aim to dispatch orders as quickly as possible. If the delivery time is longer than stated, we will contact the customer by email. We are not responsible for delays caused by third parties (carriers).
4.3. Liability and Damaged Shipments
The risk of loss passes to the customer upon delivery. If a package has been damaged in transit, the customer must immediately file a complaint with the carrier and notify us.
5. Right of Cancellation and Return (Consumer Purchases)
5.1. Right of Cancellation
Consumers have a 14-day right of cancellation for distance sales under Finnish Consumer Protection Law. The period begins from the day the consumer receives the ordered product.
5.2. Return Conditions
The right of return applies only to unused and resaleable products in their original packaging. The customer may examine the product in the same way as in a store before making a purchase decision. The product must not be put into use.
5.3. Return Costs
The customer is responsible for return shipping costs.
5.4. Return Procedure
Always notify us of a return in advance by email at myynti(at)kotielaintarvike.fi within 14 days of receiving the product. Include your name, address, phone number, and order number.
Return the product using the Matkahuolto customer return code: 9513195.
5.5. Exceptions to the Right of Cancellation
By law, the right of cancellation does not apply to:
- Service contracts where the service has been fully performed.
- Hygiene and intimate products whose seal has been broken.
- Custom-made or personalised products.
- Digital content delivered electronically.
Products with no right of exchange or return:
- Special order products made or modified according to the customer's wishes and/or measurements (Consumer Protection Act 6:16§ 3).
- Prestige saddles do not have a 14-day right of return, as their fit must always be tested in practice. We offer saddle fittings within 50 km of Seinäjoki.
- Clearance sale products have no right of exchange or return.
- Horse bits* have no right of exchange or return for hygiene reasons. Bits are shipped in sealed vacuum packaging.
- Veterinary and animal procedure supplies* have no right of exchange or return for hygiene reasons.
- Pet hygiene products* (e.g. heat pants and male wraps) have no right of exchange or return for hygiene reasons.
- Food products such as feeds, supplements, and pet dry and wet food have no right of exchange or return.
6. Liability for Defects and Complaints
6.1. Defective Product
If the delivered product is defective or damaged, please contact our customer service immediately by email at myynti(at)kotielaintarvike.fi. The defect must be reported within a reasonable time of discovery.
The seller's liability is limited to the mandatory liability for defects under Finnish Consumer Protection Law. In cases of defect, we will primarily repair the defect, replace the product, or refund the price.
6.2. Dispute Resolution
If a dispute concerning the sales contract cannot be resolved through negotiation between the parties, the consumer may refer the matter to the Consumer Disputes Board. Before doing so, the consumer should contact the Consumer Advisory Service.
7. Other Terms
7.1. Force Majeure
The Seller is not liable for delays caused by force majeure events that could not reasonably have been foreseen or whose consequences could not have been prevented.
