Benfital Plus 3 kg. Benfital Plus powder can be used with water, milk and drinking feed.
- Benfital's fibers bind harmful bacteria and carry them away with the feces.
- Benfital's salts and glucose replace deficiencies caused by diarrhea and prevent the calf from drying out.
- The calf does not have large energy reserves, so even a short-term fast will seriously starve it.
- Starvation impairs the body's resistance and disrupts the function of the intestinal villi, so that the ability to use feed is impaired for a long time.
- Recent studies have shown that fasting does not speed up the recovery of diarrhea. It is recommended that calves with diarrhea continue to be watered, to avoid starvation and minimize growth retardation. A calf with diarrhea loses fluid and salts with loose stools. In addition, acidic metabolic products begin to accumulate in the body. To prevent these disadvantages, it is recommended to administer electrolytes, alkaline substances and water. Most electrolyte drinks are not recommended to be administered simultaneously with milk or drinking feed, because they contain a lot of bicarbonate, or soda. Bicarbonate prevents milk from curdling in the rumen, which may worsen diarrhea.
- The composition of the new Benfital Plus powder is designed so that it can be used without interrupting milk or drinker feeding.
- In Benfital Plus powder, part of the bicarbonate has been replaced with organic acids, which only turn into bicarbonate after being absorbed into the body from the digestive tract.
- Benfital Plus contains water-repellent pectin fibers and inactivated yeast cells that transport diarrhea-causing bacteria out of the intestines. Water-repellent pectin fibers do not absorb water, so they do not dehydrate calves suffering from diarrhea. The water-repellent treatment is a patented method that has been used only in Benfital Plus.
- Benfital Plus contains a lot of energy. A daily dose (200 - 300 g) is enough to satisfy about 30% of a calf's daily maintenance energy requirement. This means that a calf receiving Benfital will not be hungry even if its appetite has deteriorated to the point that it refuses to drink its normal water ration.
Use:
When the first symptoms of diarrhea appear, mix 100 g of Benfital Plus powder in 2 liters
lukewarm water and give it to the calf to drink 2-3 times a day.
Between feedings of Benfital, you can offer milk or drinking feed. Always keep clean water available to the calf. In most cases, diarrhea symptoms will improve within 24 hours. However, if diarrhea persists, continue feeding Benfital Plus 2-3 more times over the next 24 hours. If the calf's condition does not improve within 2 days or the calf stops drinking, contact your veterinarian.
For larger calves (over 50 kg) it is recommended to give 150 g of Benfital Plus powder per watering. Benfital Plus can also be given in milk or mixed with drinkable feed.
